I’ll be the first to admit — this whole project is a bit like the “Field of Dreams”. I’m in that phase where I believe, “If you build it, they will come.”
As I launch this private access space within my community, I’m learning as I go! That’s why I sincerely welcome all those who wish to become a part of this journey with me: to build a communal space where we can grow together in faith by talking about it and bringing it all home in all its complexity and beauty.
What It’s About
Radiant Word is a private book club and Bible study space within our Spinning for Jesus community. We read, reflect, and discuss books that help us understand our Catholic faith more deeply — and live it more intentionally.
Each month, we’ll read a new title that meets us where we are: sometimes comforting, sometimes challenging, always illuminating.
Our November selection, Our Faithful Departed, was chosen because I’ve always had questions about what the Church really teaches about death, heaven, and the communion of saints. I wanted to learn — and talk it through — with others who might be wondering the same.
Next month, we’ll move into Advent with The Reed of God by Caryll Houselander — a beautiful reflection on Mary’s openness to God, perfect for pondering her Immaculate Heart as we await the birth of our Savior.
How to Join
If you’re already part of Spinning for Jesus, you can request access to Radiant Word — it’s a private area, so you’ll need the link or an invitation to join. Once inside, feel free to explore, ask questions, or simply read along quietly.
I’d love your feedback as the group gets going — especially if you find anything confusing or clunky. I’m still working out the mechanics and want to make it as welcoming and easy to navigate as possible.
Why “Radiant Word”?
Because the Word of God — whether through Scripture or great spiritual writing — is meant to radiate through our lives. And when we gather around it together, our shared light shines even brighter.
So, whether you’re a seasoned reader, a lifelong learner, or someone like me who returned to the faith and found many holes in my understanding, you are welcome here. Bring your questions, your curiosity, and your heart.
Let’s read, reflect, and grow in faith — together.
Cheers,
Kim
So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
