(Reflection on Romans 12:5-16)
This morning, my thoughts go to Saint Paul’s words: “We, though many, are one body in Christ and individually parts of one another.” The Eucharist unites us in a profound way to Christ, who is our head. And as members of His body, each of us has a part to play — a unique gift to offer.
Too often, people hear the word “church” and think only of an institution. But Paul reminds us the Church is a living body. When one member suffers, we all feel it. When one member lapses into sin, the whole body is weakened. That’s why prayer and intercession matter — we are bound together more deeply than we realize.
In the Gospel parable (Luke 14:15-24), we see that we’re all invited to the feast of this union with Christ. Yet some decline, some delay — caught up in selfish interests that draw them away from the great union God desires. So the call remains: to pray, to invite, and to show by our love what it means to belong to this body.
Challenge: Today, ask yourself — what part of the body am I? And how can I help strengthen the whole?
